Criminal Bail Bonds

Many people are confused about the difference between immigration bonds and criminal bonds.  Both types of bonds are used to guarantee the court appearance of an individual charged with a legal violation. The main difference between the two is that immigration bonds are civil matters while criminal bonds involve violations that can end in jail or prison time for the accused.

1st Choice Bail Bonds is one of a very few companies nationwide that can handle both immigration as well as criminal bonds.  This is a big advantage for our clients who have been arrested for crimes and have had an immigration detainer placed against them. It is possible for us to get a client release from a county or city jail AND post an immigration bond for their release from DHS or ICE custody.  This also saves our clients a considerable amount of money.

Another difference between immigration and criminal bonds is the amount of risk involved.  In a criminal matter, if the defendant misses court for some reason, the bondsman and indemnitor have a reasonable amount of time to return the defendant to custody without jeopardizing their collateral.  In immigration cases, immigration bonds are subject to immediate forfeiture, making them a much higher financial risk.

Because of this, not many bondsmen deal in immigration bail bonds.  Many companies say they do, but when you call them, they sell your lead to another company and pocket a referral premium.  Rest assured, when you call 1st Choice, you are dealing directly with the company that will post the immigration bond on your behalf.  We aren''t going to simply take your money and sell your bond to another company.  This not only saves you money, but guarantees you a high level of service throughout the life of your immigration case.

Call us today for a free consultation. Whether it''s a criminal matter or an immigration matter, our agents will be there for you 24 hours / 365 days a year.
